Focus on demand for diversified jute products

Shri GR Verma, President & Unit Head, Birla Jute Mills, represented Birla Corporation Limited at the National Symposium on Jute Fibres – Sustainable Solutions through Technological Advancements, on 18/9/24, at Ahmedabad. Invited as a panelist, he focussed on the requirement of consistent demand for diversified & technical jute products as well as upgradation of processes & machineries.

The symposium was attended by more than 300 professors from NIFT, Gandhinagar, IIM-A, NID-A, engineers and research scholars, including Padmashri Awardees like Shri Kartikeya Vikram Sarabhai & Prof. Anil K Gupta. The Joint Director, NTTM (Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India), and senior officials of the Govt of Gujarat, textiles research associations, Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute, IJMA & NJB were present.

Birla Jute Mills at the IHGF Delhi Spring Fair

Birla Jute Mills is one of the prominent participants in the IHGF Delhi Spring Fair (6-10 Feb 2024), organized by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts at the India Expo Centre, with 3,000 exhibitors in 16 halls. It is regarded as the world’s largest congregation of handicraft and gift products exporters and is an ideal platform for comprehensive showcasing of home, lifestyle, fashion, furnishing and furniture products.

BJM is displaying its popular products, including shopping, beach, storage, cooler & garden bags, as well as jute mats and yarns. The products are not only classy and fashionable but also highly tenacious and capacious. Eco-friendly jute bags are gaining in popularity.

Union Minister visits Birla Jute stall

The stall of Birla Jute Mills (unit of Birla Corporation Limited) drew the attention of the invitees to the inauguration of  Patsan Bhavan, in Kolkata, on 6 January 2024. Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution & Textile, visited the stall with other dignitaries, including Smt. Rachna Shah, IAS, Secretary (Textiles), and Smt Prajakta Verma, IAS, Joint Secretary (Fibre). The stall displayed various products, being marketed by Birla Jute Mills. The newly inaugurated Bhavan at New Town, Kolkata, houses the Jute Commissioner’s office and  headquarters of the Jute Corporation of India and National Jute Board.

Birla Jute Mills presence at Jute Symposium

The National Jute Board (NJB) organized ‘Jute Symposium’ in New Delhi today (21/12/2023) to create awareness and popularize jute-based textiles, specially jute geotextiles.

Technical sessions, panel discussions and display of jute-based value-added products, under the Jute Product Development Scheme (JPDS), marked the occasion. Birla Jute Mills had prominent presence at the symposium and its stall, displaying geotextile products, drew the attention of all.

Autumn Show at Burmingham, United Kingdom from 1st - 4th September'2019.

The Autumn Show at Birmingham was kickstarted by a stunning selection of jute bags. These bags were presented in a variety colours and designs and were all completely eco-friendly and biodegradable. It was a small step towards enabling them to move towards a fashionable yet sustainable choice.

Giftex Tokyo 2019 at Tokyo, Japan from 26th - 28th June'2019

With a wide series of stylish bags on display, the event witnessed the advent of sustainable fashion through a range of bags made of jute. This was our initiative towards making people more aware about how using jute is a huge step towards a better environment without compromising on functionality or style.

Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Trade Show at Hong Kong from 27th - 30th April.

The exhibition at Hong Kong saw a wide display of stylish jute bags that successfully captured the attention of many. The event was primarily aimed at shedding light on the benefits of jute while also striving others to switch to a more sustainable form of fashion.
